Summer and Tropical Storm Kay!

September 13, 2022

What a whirlwind time it’s been! Austin & Ziggy’s cousin (Frankie refuses relationship acknowledgment with canines), Summer, came to visit and brought her mom & dad (my sister Sylvia and her hubby Jeff) From Carlsbad, CA.

We had a beautiful visit (butt we neglected to take pics…ugh! I’m out of practice with this blog thing – I promise I’ll get better!) Sylvia brought the biggest, most incredible fresh shrimp I’ve ever had (and that’s saying something after 57 years on the planet), we had a smooth Chardonnay, and a Jay-prepared charcuterie board while dining on the beach overlooking the sunset in the harbor. Positively a dream experience with our loved ones! We then had dinner out twice more, giving Jay a well-deserved break from his chef duties. Thank you Sylvia & Jeff for making the trek through California traffic to see us! ❤️ We’re wishing you safe travels in the Amazon (not the company… the actual Amazon in South America) later this month!!!

And then… Hurricane-turned-Tropical Storm Kay arrived. We survived. Not a big deal (few weather events can shake us having experienced a tornado in our smaller RV many years ago). Just kinda windy, lots of rain, not ideal beach weather fer sure…. RV Neighbors came to visit though which brought lots of smiles and laughs 🙂

Next up…. The Nieces!!!

Golden retriever Summer
Summer was completely relaxed with her cousins and enjoyed looking out on the water!
Dinner date with family
What a delicious dinner at a historic, waterfront restaurant with Sylvia and Jeff. Such fun conversation (for those of you who don’t know Jeff – he’s got a wickedly sharp sense of humor – cracks me up all the time!)
Pink flowers
Intermission… Beautiful flowers in our campground!
Wind alerts from Tropical Storm
Tropical Storm Kay… no big deal….
Ziggy bored
Ziggy’s not used to rainy days (he hasn’t experienced many of them living in the desert).
Frankie not liking rain
Francis is not amused by the rain. Everyone’s inside and he has no “quiet time.”
Neighbor visits with dogs
The neighbors stopped by and their daughter is begging them to let her get a dog. For now, these two dogs will have to do…
Jay petting dogs
When you’re trapped indoors all day, you have to make good conversation where you can find it. Ziggy & Austin humored Jay as best as they could…
