All Packed and Ready to Go to Coronado!

March 29, 2023

It’s been a few months since Tinkerbell has spread her wings! We decided to take a water vacation from our desert vacation and spend a few weeks on the beach in Coronado.

Austin loved breathing in the Bay breeze!

One of the first sights we saw was a new rental opportunity on the shores of the marina. So long paddle boats and kayaks!

One of the boats in the marina had recently sunk. Apparently, this happens more frequently than you’d think: there are a number of “absentee” owners in Fiddlers Cove Marina.

We took advantage of the beautiful weather (rain was on the horizon) and enjoyed long walks on San Diego Bay. Fiddlers Cove RV Park and Marina is on the Navy Amphibious Base; there are miles of military beachfront, which is not accessible to the public. This means lots of off leash running for us and 2/3 of the boys 😉

I think Ziggy was a fashion model in his previous life….
Austin LOVED his beach time! His favorite activity: chasing the ball into the Bay and bringing it back wet and slobbery for another throw!
Ziggy’s favorite activity was running away and then running back to herd us. And then he discovered the water… and there was no keeping him out ;)!

We quickly learned how to efficiently hose ourselves and the dogs off after our beach walks. It’s a bit messy: gritty sand, sticky seaweed… butt, we adapted!

Frankie, meanwhile, enjoyed his peace and quiet inside Tinkerbell.

Frankie enjoyed sunning in Tinkerbell’s many windows.

Later in the evenings, I’d break out the furminator, combs, brushes and hair rakes and give Ziggy some one-on-one attention while the other boys watched with envy and amusement.

This was at the beginning of our grooming session. By the end, everyone but me was asleep! Nothing like a gentle brushing to lull you into dreamland.

We’re enjoying our Coronado Home-Away-From-Home! Sweet Dreams to Everyone! 🌴🌙
