Sunrise in Virginia Beach

This post is brought to you by Jay. He took some stunning beach pictures with his iPhone and will be sharing them with you here 🙂

We’ll start with some non-sunrise pics to whet your appetite…

Jay is mesmerized by clouds. They feed his imagination.
Jay said the sparkle of the sun on the water is what made him snap this pic 🙂
Always the romantic, Jay couldn’t help but leave me a love note on the beach 🙂
The contrast of the colors and the action of the wave caught Jay’s eye.

Now that you’ve experienced the Atlantic Ocean and Virginia Beach during the day, let’s move onto a stunning sunrise over the ocean!

A shot from the dunes with the reed poking the sun….
Jay said he wanted to capture the waves crashing in, leaving trails of sea foam.
Nothing like a good cup of coffee to go with a beautiful sunrise!
We are so impressed with the quality of photos Jay can take on his iPhone: this is an un-retouched/edited photo of the sunrise.
Some hot babe snuck up behind Jay and took this picture while he was deep in thought on the beach.
To see those colors! To hear the waves! To smell the salty air! Life is amazing!
We decided this beach is now on our “return to” list: Dam Neck ranks up there right behind Coronado (except it’s much farther from Tucson)!

And, before we knew it, our week in Virginia Beach was over. We packed Tinkerbell and took I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel inland to our next stop: Fredericksburg, VA!

The tunnel was a tight fit. Tinkerbell is a towering 13′ tall… the bridge is 13′ 6″… with just 6 inches of headroom, we had to duck our heads to squeeze through the tunnel 😉

  1. Thanks Mona! The tunnel was fun (for Jay!)… one pot hole and Tink would have scraped the ceiling 😬

  2. These pictures are stunning. Cannot pick a favorite. They are all so good. Makes the tunnel feel a bit claustrophobic.
