A Goat in Our Cow… No Kidding!

May 28, 2023

Yes.

It’s a goat in our cow (condo on wheels)!

Austin wasn’t quite sure what was happening (or why). Butt he was certainly relieved when Valerie the Kid left the premises.

We hung out on the Spear Family Farm in Crosby, TX, for a few days. Crosby is a small, unincorporated town northeast of Houston.

I bonded with Ripley… she let me pet her and she snuggled into me.

We got to meet the Ripley the Horse, Cheeseburger the Cow, and a gaggle of goats and chickens 😉

Cheeseburger, Ripley, and Pepper watched with amusement as Ziggy zig-zagged in front of their pen.

After we got settled in, we put on a play show for the farm animals… and Frankie.

Austin and Ziggy loved being off-leash and Frankie enjoyed watching them from his safe, air-conditioned perch inside Tinkerbell.

The goats were a little skittish of the dogs and kept a close eye on them.

Pepper is the big goat and he protected his herd from the rambunctious canines on his property.

The dogs pretty much left the animals alone. Ziggy did try herding a few chickens.

Ziggy was not successful in herding the chickens. Butt, he kept trying!

Tinkerbell was safe and secure in a large shelter during our stay. The farm was equipped with a full RV hook-up, which was nice!

Crosby gets a lot of rain. The grounds were quite green.

The Spear home is spacious and is undergoing multiple renovations (including the kitchen and the family room at the same time!)

Alicia, Toller and the kids (children, that is) moved into their home in Crosby about two years ago.

The farm is home to seven goats of various ages.

Jay said Clarence the Goat looked like he had Trump’s hair 😉

Grandson Quinn is mostly in charge of taking care of the goats. He came in from the heat to spend a few minutes giving Austin a belly rub.

Austin just LOVES Quinn!

And then Quinn joined us for breakfast and studied road maps with his Papa Jay.

Quinn is going to join us on our next road trip this summer!

After a long day, I curled up into bed and had Frankie help me write the blog 😊 Tomorrow is going to be busy, busy, busy!
